12.07.2010 - easyAIS-IS
Good made better!
The easyAIS-IS is an evolution step forward of the well known easyAIS by Weatherdock AG located in Nurnberg in Germany. This new AIS receiver has an integrated splitter and a signal amplifier to make the usage of AIS data on board much more comfortable.
The easyAIS-IS provides a logical and innovative devel-opment of an already excellent product. This shows the philosophy of Weatherdock: always the best and technic-al feasible for the costumer!
The integrated amplifier eliminates physical losses caused by the splitting process. Because of the in build splitter the easyAIS-IS can be used with several devices at the present VHF antenna at the same time.
In January 2010 the easyAIS-IS was presented by Wea-therdock at the BOOT trade fair as a new member of the “easy family”.
Since may 2010 the delivery of the easyAIS-IS to specialist shops has started.
The USB port for direct connection to a PC or Plotter will become an additional unique selling preposition for the costumers.

Saving lives simple now with AIS - easyRESCUE
The Easy Rescue is a personal AIS transmitting beacon. With a built in GPS it transmits an emergency AIS-SART sentence (MOB) which triggers an alarm on all AIS enabled chart plotters / PC’s within range, along with the Lat/Long of the victim. The GPS is a new generation fast acquiring type and the VHF AIS transmitter repeats the message and position several times per minute. This enables all vessels within range to assist with the rescue if they have an AIS receiver or transponder. Here, the chances of survival are greatly increased.
The Weatherdock Inc. located in Nuremberg, has taken up a major problem on shipping: the effective and simple rescue of a man over board (MOB) person. So far, it is very difficult to determine the exact position of the victim, just sustainably, to launch a successful rescue. Today's life-saving equipment will range from "lookout" on lifebuoy to so-called electronic beacons (EPIRB). In all these systems, the current position of the MOB person was no longer covered by "his mother ship". That makes a quick rescue difficult or even impossible.
The just mentioned disadvantages are eliminated with a new system developed by Weatherdock.
The easyRESCUE sends the position data of the castaways on a standard FM radio frequencies with standardized data: the AIS data. AIS is an internationally valid standard, which transmits the current position of the transmitter, speed and other data. Novel about this rescue-system is that using a commercially available navigation device (plotter) or a PC and the associated AIS receiver location data from the easyRESCUE can be received and even will be displayed as a marker on the chart.
Compared to today's solutions are thus several advantages: First, all vessels with AIS receivers can be involved in the rescue operation. Furthermore the rescue can be started without waiting for intervention by the Coast Guard. Hence the easy-RESCUE is a huge potential for growth when it comes to the successful rescue of MOB persons.
The easyRESCUE is issued and presented to the interested public at the booth of Weatherdock Inc. on the int. boat trade fair BOOT in Duesseldorf from January 21. to 31. 2010. According to expert reports on his board speaker Alfred Kotouczek-Zeise, in addition to the easyRESCUE other new products will be presented at the Weatherdock both in hall 11 – B27.
05.11.2009 - Int. Boat Trade Fair BOOT 2010
Int. Boat Trade Fai Duesseldorf 2010
Weatherdock Inc. is on target fort he BOOT 2010
During the world largest yacht and boat show, the BOOT2010 in Duesseldorf, Weatherdock Inc. will be on location there with a own booth in hall 11 – B27. From the 25th up to the 31st of January three new products will be presented to the interested general public. One of these products, the easyRESCUE is a world premiere. Weatherdock would like to show by this commitment how important it is to push the technical equipment level even on pleasure boats to greater hights – for safety reasons.
Highlight at the Weatherdock booth will certainly be the easyRESCUE – a novel AIS-based maritime emergency chanel. This system makes searching MOB persons much more easier. It transmits the live position permanently on a standard FM frequency: the AIS signal. So every vessel in the surrounding with an AIS-receiver is able to locate the MOB person on the chart plotter as a marker and could initiate the rescue.
A product development is the easyAIS-IS. This device based on the easyAIS contains a splitter which separates AIS and other signals without any loss. So full power is guaranteed at any time. PC’s will connected easily with USB.
Useful on pleasure boats will also be the easyN2Konnect. The easyN2Konnect converts the AIS-Data, which are in the NMEA 0183 Code into the new NMEA 2000. So all AIS-devices could be integrated in the new PC and chart plotter generation, which run with NMEA 2000 and "master/slave-configuration". N2K: plug & play in such an easy way! Open the technical door for older equipment into the next century.
